Plumbers Local 130 Retiree Welfare Fund (“Retiree Plan”) Effective June 1, 2015

 The Board of Trustees of the Plumbers Local No. 130 Retiree Welfare Fund (“Retiree Plan”) are pleased to inform you that they have made improvements to the Retiree Plan effective June 1, 2015.

Retiree Plan Benefit Improvements
The Retiree Plan, which governs benefits provided to Former Participants and their Spouses and surviving Spouses, has been changed in the following ways:

  1. Expanded Eligibility for Early Retirees (Self Pay Retirees):  Members (Former Participants) may now be eligible to receive up to 120 months of Self Pay Retiree coverage prior to becoming eligible for Medicare or attaining age 65.
  2. Decrease in Dental Premiums:  The premiums for dental benefits will decrease from $44 to $33 per person per month. This represents a 25% decrease in the monthly premium rates.
  3. Extended Period for Medicare Eligible Spouses to elect Medicare Supplement Benefits and Prescription Drug Benefits:
    1. Spouses and Surviving Spouses of a Retired Member who are eligible for Medicare may now elect to enroll in the Plumbers’ Welfare Fund Local 130 U.A. Medicare Supplement Benefit by the date they become eligible for Medicare (in most instances, 65th birthday).
    2. The monthly premium will remain unchanged and currently is $41 and $25 respectively.
    3. Retired Members are automatically enrolled in the Medicare Supplement Benefit.
  4. HRA Debit Card:  Retired Member and their Spouses and Surviving Spouses who have a balance remaining in their HRA account will now have the use of a HRA Debit Card starting June 1st, 2015.
  5. Increase in Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Benefit:  For Medicare Eligible Participants, Spouses and Surviving Spouses who have signed up for and paid the current monthly premium, the following benefit increases are offered:

Generic Co-Pay: $10.00
Formulary Brand Co-Pay: 25% up to Max of $50.00
Non-Formulary Co-Pay: 25% up to Max of $100.00
Specialty Co-Pay: 25% up to Max of $100.00
Coverage Gap: Same as initial coverage limits
Coverage Gap of Non Part D Drugs: Yes

Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Benefit for Mail Order
Deductible:  $0.00
Generic Co-Pay: $20.00
Formulary Brand Co-Pay: 25% up to Max of $75.00
Non-Formulary Co-Pay: 25% up to Max of $125.00
Specialty Co-Pay: 25% up to Max of $125.00
Coverage Gap: Same as initial coverage limits
Coverage Gap of Non Part D Drugs: Yes
